Creating New Success Stories, Together
Indigenous communities and RBC have a longstanding history of working together. By building relationships based on mutual respect, shared values and a common understanding, together we can enable meaningful change for generations to come.
Our Commitment
RBC aims to deepen relationships with Indigenous communities through an inclusive approach to the way we do business, provide access to employment and education, select suppliers, and support Indigenous needs. Guided by our commitment to advancing reconciliation, we strive to create an environment where Indigenous communities can thrive and prosper.
In 2025, we published our Reconciliation Action Plan, outlining the bank’s measurable, long-term commitment towards reconciliation. Rooted in a holistic approach, we believe that the reconciliation journey requires deliberate and sustained efforts toward responsible and respectful practices.

Shaping an Economy of Reconciliation and Prosperity
We believe our organization – and the financial industry as a whole – will be stronger when Indigenous talent have the opportunity to thrive. That’s why we’re focused on enhancing inclusive hiring practices and creating clear pathways for advancement. It’s a forward-looking approach designed to build a more inclusive and prosperous shared future.

Working Together for Stronger Outcomes
We invest in Indigenous communities through strong collaboration and community-led solutions. Grounded in listening, respect and shared goals, our approach is guided by local leadership and regional priorities – with a focus on the areas of greatest need.

Supporting Indigenous People in the Workforce
Empowering the financial wellness and goals of Indigenous Peoples, businesses and communities is one of the many ways we strive to contribute to lasting prosperity and change. This involves creating inclusive opportunities, providing tailored financial services, offering specialized advice and improving access to capital.

Rooted in Respect for Land and Knowledge
Indigenous Peoples have long cared for the land, drawing on deep knowledge of the earth and sustainable practices that have been passed through generations. They play an important role in stewarding the planet’s biodiversity and, through their ecological knowledge, sustainable practices and holistic understanding of ecosystems, can help address our current environmental crises.

Leading With Accountability and Respect
At RBC, our leadership approach is grounded in respect, accountability, and the principles of reconciliation. When we launched our Truth and Reconciliation Office, we established new leadership roles spanning Reconciliation, Strategy, Business and Human Rights, making RBC the first major financial institution in Canada to create a dedicated Human Rights leadership position.
