Pow Wow Pitch, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Indigenous entrepreneurs, is proud to announce the continuation of its partnership with Best Buy Canada for 2026. Building on the success of previous years, this renewed collaboration will continue to equip Indigenous youth entrepreneurs across the country with mentorship, funding, and access to essential technology to launch and grow their businesses.

Best Buy Canada will once again support the Youth category during the Pow Wow Pitch Semi Finals, offering mentorship to Indigenous youth under 21 as they refine their business ideas and strengthen their pitches. Best Buy Canada representatives will also participate in the adjudication process, helping select the recipient of the 1,000 dollar Youth Prize, who will advance to compete at the Grand Finale.

Through the Tech 4 Youth program, Indigenous youth entrepreneurs from across Canada can submit a Request for Tech outlining the equipment they need to support their business operations. Together, Pow Wow Pitch and Best Buy Canada will review applications and provide selected recipients with the technology required to enhance their digital presence, streamline operations, and accelerate growth. The 2026 Tech 4 Youth program will launch this spring.

Over the past several years, the Tech 4 Youth program has placed critical technology in the hands of young Indigenous entrepreneurs, helping them overcome digital barriers and build confidence in their entrepreneurial journeys. From laptops and creative tools to essential business equipment, the program continues to ensure youth have practical support as they take their next steps.

In addition to technology access, Best Buy Canada will continue amplifying youth voices by providing gift cards to Tech 4 Youth recipients who share how their equipment will advance their business goals. These stories highlight the determination and creativity of Indigenous youth entrepreneurs and inspire others to pursue their own ventures.

“We are proud to continue our partnership with Pow Wow Pitch and support Indigenous youth entrepreneurs as they develop their ideas and leadership skills,” said Karen Arsenault, Head of Social Impact at Best Buy Canada. “Our employees value the opportunity to mentor these young founders and contribute to their growth.”

“Youth carry forward the vision and strength of our communities,” said Naomi Sarazin, Executive Director of Pow Wow Pitch. “By investing in their ideas today and ensuring they have access to the right tools and guidance, we are supporting not only individual businesses but the future of Indigenous entrepreneurship.”

A Conversation with Indigenous Youth Entrepreneur

Kaleb Montgomery-Reid, a Tech 4 Youth Grant recipient and 2025 Pow Wow Pitch Finalist, is transforming the world of youth athletics through Reverence Basketball, a training business based in West Kelowna, British Columbia. Kaleb is a member of the Lower Similkameen Indian Band and is on a mission to give Indigenous athletes the training, visibility, and belief they need to succeed, both on and off the court.

Reverence Basketball was born from Kaleb’s own journey as an Indigenous athlete who often lacked access to elite training. “I carried the weight of wanting something more, mentorship, guidance, and a pathway to the next level. That gap is what motivated me to start Reverence Basketball,” he shares. Today, the program has grown into a thriving platform offering weekly academies, private and semi-private workouts, community camps, and guidance through film, mentorship, and scholarship support.

Kaleb’s proudest accomplishment is seeing Reverence evolve beyond himself. “In less than a year, it’s become a space where athletes build skill, confidence, and leadership, and where Indigenous youth can see their identity celebrated,” he reflects. Partnerships with colleges, community camps, and the successes of young athletes are proof that Reverence is more than basketball, it’s a movement rooted in youth stories and of belonging to the community.

One of the biggest lessons Kaleb has learned is the power of relationships. While he initially thought building a program would be all about systems and strategy, he quickly realized that mentors, community connections, and the athletes themselves are the foundation of Reverence’s success. “The mentors who’ve guided me, the communities who’ve opened their doors, and the athletes who’ve trusted me are the relationships that have shown me growth doesn’t happen in isolation. They’ve become the foundation for where Reverence is headed and the proof that I know this work will last,” he notes.

Recent technology upgrades, provided through the Tech 4 Youth Grant and Best Buy Canada, have been game-changers for Kaleb. A new camera and computer allow him to capture and edit footage on the go, telling the stories of athletes and communities who deserve to be seen. “With every video, highlight, and story we share, we’re not just training players, we’re building visibility and opportunity that can change lives,” he explains.

Kaleb’s advice to young entrepreneurs is grounded in his experience, “Start with your story. Your lived experience, community, and perspective are your greatest strengths, they set you apart in ways no one else can copy. Don’t wait until you feel ‘ready.’ Take that first step, lean on your community, and keep moving forward even when it feels uncertain.”

Kaleb Montgomery-Reid’s journey with Reverence Basketball is a testament to what can be achieved when passion, identity, and community come together. By empowering young athletes and leveraging their strengths, he is proving that business can be both a pathway to personal success and a gift back to the people who shaped you.

A Conversation with Indigenous Youth Entrepreneur

Anthony Theriault, a Tech 4 Youth Grant recipient and 2025 Pow Wow Pitch Semi-Finalist, is the co-founder of eleven59 and a member of the Red River Métis. Through eleven59, he is helping students take control of their academic lives with a platform built by students, for students. Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Anthony and his team developed eleven59 to tackle a challenge all students face; staying organized amid the demands of school, work, and life.

“Everyone was juggling so much, and it felt like there had to be a better way,” Anthony explains. Eleven59 is an application designed to help students manage their coursework more effectively. It automatically extracts due dates, assignments, and exams from course syllabi and adds them to students’ calendars. From there, it generates a personalized, optimized study plan, helping students stay on top of their work and reduce stress.

“What I’m most proud of is that we took that shared problem and turned it into something tangible, building a tool that helps students feel more in control,” Anthony says. He’s proud to have transformed a shared challenge into a meaningful, practical solution.

Anthony’s biggest lesson from launching eleven59 is simple but powerful: just take action. He stresses that you don’t need to have everything figured out to get started. “Getting started is the most challenging step, but it’s also the most crucial. Ask for help when you need it, and keep moving forward,” he says.

Recent technology upgrades, thanks to the Tech 4 Youth Grant and Best Buy Canada, are helping the team take eleven59 to the next level. Anthony received an Apple iPhone 16 Pro and Apple MacBook Pro to complete the development of their application and make it accessible to Apple product users. Additionally, he received a mirrorless camera to begin documenting their journey to share eleven59’s story to students everywhere.

Anthony offers advice for other young entrepreneurs: “You are your own expert in your business. Nobody knows your idea, your passion, or your community better than you. Trust that, and don’t be afraid to take the first step.”

Programs like Pow Wow Pitch have also helped share eleven59’s story, giving Anthony and his co-founder, Todd de Groot, a platform to showcase their work and expand their reach. With determination, innovation, and community support, Anthony is proving how student-led solutions can make a meaningful difference.

Kylie Landry-Zoe, a Tech 4 Youth Grant recipient and a member of Deh Gáh Got’ie Dene First Nation, is bringing family, culture, and creativity together through her family’s business, The Bebia Cho Company based in Kelowna, British Columbia. Specializing in a family clothing line “from bebia to grandpa,” Kylie is designing apparel that reflects her family’s mission, while celebrating her Indigenous roots and entrepreneurial spirit.

Kylie’s passion for fashion started early. She loves making clothes and debuted her family line at the International Indigenous Fashion Show in Regina on October 11, 2025. Modeling her designs herself, Kylie is taking a bold step into the spotlight, sharing her creations with a wider audience and proudly representing her culture.

The Tech 4 Youth Grant and support from Best Buy Canada has been instrumental in helping Kylie achieve her goals. Kylie received an Apple iPhone 16e, Dell Laptop, selfie stick, and wireless microphone to expand her skills into digital art and media. She’s learning to draw with a tablet, explore video production, and podcasting with guidance from her mother. Her goal is to bring The Bebia Cho Company to life online, creating engaging content for YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms, helping her brand reach even more families.

For Kylie, family is at the heart of her entrepreneurial journey. She emphasizes the importance of working with loved ones: “Create with your family in case you don’t know what to do, they can help you.” Despite being shy, Kylie encourages her friends and family to take chances: “You never know what can happen!”

Kylie Landry-Zoe’s story is a testament to how anything is possible when community and family come together to build something meaningful. As The Bebia Cho Company continues to grow, Kylie is determined to inspire other young Indigenous entrepreneurs to embrace their passions and take bold steps toward their dreams.

A member of Swan River First Nation and based in Calgary, Alberta, Mackenzie has developed a thriving beadwork jewelry and ribbon skirt business deeply rooted in cultural connection, creativity, and self-expression. Her designs celebrate cultural identity while empowering people to feel beautiful and confident in their uniqueness.

Mackenzie’s journey began when her mom reached out to their First Nation to connect her and her brother to cultural craft activities. Though virtual craft nights weren’t available, the community sent patterns, tutorials, and supplies to make traditional moose hide mittens, a moment that sparked her love for beadwork. Teaching herself through online resources, Mackenzie developed her own designs, starting with a nature-inspired collection shaped by her favorite places and memories. What began as a personal journey of cultural reconnection has grown into Grey Wolf Crafts, a business that shares her story through handmade, Indigenous-inspired jewelry and ribbon skirts celebrating identity, beauty, and uniqueness.

One of Mackenzie’s proudest accomplishments to date has been becoming a 2025 Pow Wow Pitch Semi-Finalist, a milestone that affirmed her passion and encouraged her to keep growing as both an artist and entrepreneur. “It was an amazing experience, and I was so proud to be part of it,” Mackenzie reflects.

Looking ahead, Mackenzie is excited to continue growing Grey Wolf Crafts and sharing her art with a wider audience. Thanks to the Tech 4 Youth Grant and support from Best Buy Canada, she received two major technology upgrades: a new iPhone to capture high-quality photos of her beadwork and to stay connected on social media, as well as a MacBook Pro to manage inventory, stay organized, and build a professional website that reflects the heart of her brand. These tools are helping Mackenzie bring her creative vision to life and take her business to the next level.

For other Indigenous youth dreaming of starting something of their own, Mackenzie offers heartfelt encouragement: “Keep going even when it feels impossible. There’s support and opportunities out there, like Pow Wow Pitch, to help you succeed.”

Mackenzie Labby’s story is a powerful example of what can happen when cultural pride, determination, and creativity come together. As Grey Wolf Crafts continues to grow, so does her role as an inspiring young voice in the world of Indigenous entrepreneurship.

Pow Wow Pitch, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Indigenous entrepreneurs, is proud to announce the extension of its partnership with Best Buy Canada through 2025. With Best Buy’s continued support, Pow Wow Pitch will empower even more Indigenous youth across the country by providing funding, one-on-one mentorship, and access to essential technology to jumpstart their businesses.

As a Seed Partner, Best Buy Canada supports the Youth Category of Pow Wow Pitch’s Semi-Finals, providing mentorship to Indigenous youth under 21 to help them refine their pitches. The expansion of the Youth Category marks a significant milestone for both Pow Wow Pitch and Best Buy Canada in their shared mission to scale impact and provide more resources to young Indigenous entrepreneurs. Best Buy Canada also plays a key role in the adjudication process, helping select the $1,000 Youth Prize Semi-Final Winner, who will advance to the Grand Finale to compete for the Grand Prize.

Through this partnership, Indigenous youth entrepreneurs across Canada can submit a ‘Request for Tech’ to apply for essential technology to launch and operate their businesses. Pow Wow Pitch and Best Buy Canada will review and evaluate these requests to help equip Indigenous youth with the technology they need to thrive. The 2025 Tech 4 Youth program is set to launch on April 9 at powwowpitch.org/tech-4-youth.

The success of the Tech 4 Youth program over the past three years has put technology in the hands of 25 young Indigenous entrepreneurs, equipping them with the tools needed to develop their businesses, enhance their digital presence, and support their operations. This program has been instrumental in helping young Indigenous entrepreneurs overcome digital barriers, empowering them to bring their ideas to life and grow their businesses with confidence.

Beyond providing technology to young Indigenous entrepreneurs, Best Buy Canada is also amplifying Pow Wow Pitch’s storytelling impact by offering Best Buy gift cards to successful Tech 4 Youth recipients who share how their technology will support their entrepreneurial journey. By showcasing these stories, Pow Wow Pitch and Best Buy Canada aim to inspire more Indigenous youth to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations.

“We are excited to continue supporting Pow Wow Pitch in an expanded capacity, providing technology, mentorship, and funding to empower Indigenous youth as they prepare to become future founders,” said Karen Arsenault, Head of Social Impact at Best Buy Canada. “Our employees find immense value in mentoring these young entrepreneurs, and we’re proud to help amplify the incredible work Pow Wow Pitch is doing across.”

“Youth are the heart and future of our Indigenous communities,” said Naomi Sarazin, Executive Director of Pow Wow Pitch. “As Indigenous peoples, we are always thinking about the next seven generations, and empowering our youth is key to ensuring not only their success but the success of our communities. By supporting their dreams, providing the resources they need, and opening up opportunities, we’re helping shape a brighter future—not just for today, but for generations to come.”

Through impactful programs and partnerships, Best Buy Canada is committed to

creating opportunities for youth by connecting them with tech. By working with organizations like Pow Wow Pitch, Best Buy Canada continues to play a vital role in fostering the next generation of Indigenous entrepreneurs, ensuring they have the tools and resources they need to succeed and make a lasting impact in their communities.

A Conversation with 2024 Tech 4 Youth Grant Recipient

Kashtin Delorme, a Tech 4 Youth Grant recipient and 2024 Pow Wow Pitch Semi-Finalist, is making waves as a young entrepreneur as the founder of KASHT2N Productions, a thriving photo and video production company based in Melville, Saskatchewan. Hailing from the Cowessess First Nation, Kashtin has built a business that specializes in capturing life’s most cherished moments through stunning visuals. From weddings to corporate events, fashion shoots, and powwows, his work is quickly gaining recognition for its creativity and quality.

KASHT2N Productions officially launched in August 2024 and Kashtin’s entrepreneurial journey began when a cousin tagged him in a post from someone seeking a wedding photographer. Despite never having shot a wedding before, Kashtin confidently stepped up, leveraging his experience in fashion photography to secure his first client. That leap of faith not only landed him his first gig but also set him on a path to build a business that’s become a key part of his entrepreneurial journey.

For Kashtin, the best part of running KASHT2N Productions is the overwhelming positive feedback he receives from clients. “When people say they’ve seen my work and like it, that’s definitely what I’m most proud of,” he shares. It’s this kind of validation that fuels his passion and commitment to delivering excellence, one frame at a time.

The entrepreneurial road isn’t without challenges, Kashtin acknowledges that patience has been one of his biggest lessons, especially during times when clients aren’t booking consistently. Yet, he approaches these moments with determination that shows just how dedicated he is to his passion and vision for his business.

Looking ahead, Kashtin’s dreams are cinematic, he aspires to work as a cinematographer, the creative force behind the camera in a movie production. With his eye for detail and the storytelling skills he’s honed through his business, this goal feels well within his reach. A recent upgrade to his equipment, courtesy of the Tech 4 Youth Grant and Best Buy Canada, has brought him closer to this dream. “The absolutely stunning quality of this camera will help me the most! Both video and photos I’ve shot from this camera are amazing. This type of business usually requires good quality visuals, which this camera definitely has,” he explains with excitement.

To Indigenous youth considering entrepreneurship, Kashtin has simple but powerful advice: “Absolutely do it! Start that business! Make what you want, do what you want! There will always be people that will support you and love the work you’ll create.” His enthusiasm and encouragement serve as a reminder that with determination and community support, dreams can be transformed into impactful realities.

Kashtin Delorme’s journey is a testament to the power of creativity, courage, and community. As KASHT2N Productions continues to grow, so does his role as an inspiring figure for young entrepreneurs everywhere.

A Conversation with 2024 Tech 4 Youth Grant Recipient

Simon Monteith, a Tech 4 Youth Grant recipient and 2024 Pow Wow Pitch Finalist, is an inspiring young entrepreneur from Opaskwayak Cree Nation. At just 12 years old, Simon is making a name for himself as the founder of Simon The Scientist, a non-profit organization based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Focused on Indigenous-based STEM learning, Simon is on a mission to make science exciting and inclusive, showing the world how fun it can be to explore through a fresh, unique perspective.

Simon’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2020 at the onset of the pandemic, driven by his desire to promote STEM education from multiple perspectives. “I felt it was important for people to learn STEM from multiple perspectives,” Simon shares. “I also had fun exploring science myself.” Since then, his passion for innovation and discovery has turned into a platform for sharing knowledge, inspiring young minds, and building meaningful connections.

One of Simon’s favorite parts of running Simon The Scientist is the sense of pride that comes with big achievements. “The best part is how proud you are when you do something huge like building a partnership or updating the website. It makes me feel proud of myself!” This sense of accomplishment fuels Simon’s motivation and dedication to his work.

Like many entrepreneurs, Simon has faced challenges along the way. “My biggest lesson has been that not everything comes easily. I have to work hard even when I don’t always want to,” he explains. Yet, his determination remains steadfast, and his growth mindset is evident in his plans for the future.

Looking ahead, Simon hopes to expand his impact by presenting at more in-person events and creating professional-grade videos. “I realized that I really like presenting at in-person events, and I want to grow that,” he says. “I also want to make professional videos instead of kitchen-table videos.”

The Tech 4 Youth Grant and support from Best Buy Canada has been instrumental in helping Simon achieve his goals. The grant provided him with a microscope and a 3D printer, which he plans to use in innovative ways. “The microscope will be very useful for content and exploration—I want to check out cells. I already have a plan to use the 3D printer for one of my upcoming sessions where I will build Indigenous-based structures with the printer.”

To other Indigenous youth considering entrepreneurship, Simon offers heartfelt advice: “Keep trying even if it’s tough at times. It will be worth it.” His message underscores the resilience and passion that have been the hallmarks of his journey.

Simon Monteith’s story is a powerful example of how curiosity, creativity, and hard work can transform a vision into a reality. Through Simon The Scientist, he continues to inspire young people to explore the wonders of STEM while honouring the importance of diverse perspectives in education.
